"i really love your work"

I think making art is mostly about pleasing yourself. But I have to tell you it's so satisfying to get comments on the work I post. It makes me think about why I made something and the feelings it provokes for the viewer. Sometimes they are spot on and sometimes they are unexpected.

I complimented this highly accomplished artist on her work one day. I pretty much just said I love her work. Her response was "you can do better than that." Her words made me pause. My reply after a good long think was "when I look at your work it makes me want to run around in circles and jump up and down and squeal with joy."

I think we feed each other with compliments whether you are an artist, parent or business person. Why do you love something or someone??
